As you can see in the photograph above I gather the excess fabric at the back together with running stitch that is pulled tight and tied in a bow. To re-stretch the embroidery, if it should loosen in the hoop over time all you need to do is untie the bow at the back, loosen the gather and pull the fabric taught again, tighten the screw at the top further, re-gather and tie the bow.
